Hello! I’m Steven

I am a licensed massage therapist based on the Connecticut Shoreline, with 20 years of experience in therapeutic bodywork. My goal is to support you on your journey to a pain-free life by helping reduce the adaptive demands placed on your body by chronic or unexplained pain. Through my work, I aim to empower you with greater control over your well-being and quality of life.

I got interested in therapeutic bodywork because of my time training in Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art. I loved learning about anatomy and movement and enjoyed the flowing, dynamic moves of Capoeira, which felt like poetry in motion. I went to massage therapy school, and since many of my training partners had pain from hard training, what I learned helped ease their discomfort. The physical demands were intense, and I eventually hurt my lower back doing an acrobatic move. Massage helped for a while, but the pain kept coming back.

In 2023, I discovered the John Barnes Myofascial Release Approach when I received one of his brochures in the mail. I had heard great things about his work, and that clients were experiencing amazing results in pain relief after receiving it. Skeptical, I enrolled in my first Myofascial Release seminar series. My doubts were laid to rest when I got firsthand experience receiving the work. My pain relief was long-lasting, especially when I incorporated self-treatment. My awareness of how my body was storing tension increased as I learned to listen to what it had to say. The rest is history. I knew I had to share this work with my clients and it transformed the way I practice and view the body.

Beyond my dedication to continuous learning and professional growth, I enjoy playing tennis, martial arts training, traveling, spending time at the beach, and exercising.
